Re-opening and operating offices and warehouses in the current environment
Like many of our customers, Prologis is doing a phased re-opening of our offices that have been closed for an extended period. We found the following references and links useful in our planning. While each situation is unique and every company should consult the federal, state and local government and public health agencies' orders and regulations first to evaluate what is appropriate for them, we wanted to share these references.
PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION
Real estate legal experts at Cozen O'Connor have created this useful checklist for creating a comprehensive re-opening plan. They also emphasize clearly communicating information addressing employee safety concerns as well as what the "new" work environment will be like.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
It will be important to have your offices and warehouses professionally cleaned before re-opening. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offers guidance and best practices on cleaning and disinfecting workspaces here.
Many companies are taking a phased approach to bringing employees back into offices versus "flipping a switch" and having all employees come back all at once. The Cooley law firm has addressed these considerations in this comprehensive blog.
ORDERS AND REGULATIONS
Remember: Re-opening offices and warehouses must conform to orders and regulations issued by federal, state and local governments and public health agencies. Check official government and health agency websites where you have offices.
